Reflective Journal Week 14

In this unit, I learned a lot about how to help motivate employees.  I learned that giving employees a raise doesn't necessarily solve the problem of helping employees feel appreciated.  I also learned that some things like recognition in a way that the employee will appreciate it and noticing employees goes a long way.
In the team discussion, I felt like I had a lot of ideas from my hospital where I feel like they do a good job of treating their employees well.  I liked a lot of ideas that they had as well so my mind didn't really change.   It's interesting to see what each person had in mind in helping motivate people on their floor.
In my nursing practice, I want to think about ways that motivate me for future nursing opportunities. I also want to remember the importance of motivating employees and how important it is for boosting work ethic, etc. I also want to give feedback when I have the opportunity if I don't think one thing motivates me, etc.
I feel like it's important to motivate employees.  I feel like my hospital does a really good job of motivating employees and it makes it more fun to work there.  It also helps motivate me to be a better nurse.  I have also thought about people who get a raise in their salary and then end of comparing it elsewhere.
