Personality Test

My DISC personality test results showed that I was more of a Dominant personality.  Close behind that was conscientious.  Some of these surprised me just because I don't feel like I'm a dominant person.  I am pretty active and try to take initiative when appropriate.  I think that it also depends on the situation and circumstance.  If I understand the importance of something, I'm much more likely to take an initiative.  I didn't realize much about me being a straightforward person, but I think that I am a straightforward person.  Usually, if I notice something that isn't right or should be corrected, I'm not afraid to speak up.
I think this affects my leadership style because it's more proactive leadership.  I also think that sometimes, a weakness to this dominant style can be not always listening to other people's ideas.  I definitely want to make sure that I keep an open mind to other people's ideas. I think as a leader, that it will help accomplish things in a timely manner.  I also think that being straightforward helps keep goals clear and helps keep everybody on the same page.  It especially helps keep communication clear in a group. I also think that along with accomplishing things, I can get impatient, and this can cause stress upon others.  It may cause them to not do as good of a job because of the stress.
Overall, I really do enjoy solving problems and puzzles, as long as they are solvable.
With the knowledge of this test, I want to look at strengths and weaknesses with this leadership style. I want to do more self evaluation, but also embrace my strong points as a leader.  I think that taking opportunities to exemplify my ability to solve problems and stay on task will help these qualities become stronger and help me learn more.  I also can be more self aware of when I am exercising certain qualities that are/aren't effective.
